Hey everyone!
We’ve been pretty M.I.A on the blogs recently, but we’re back with a BANG! We know that times are pretty tough for everyone at the moment, so we hope that we brighten your day by providing some wicked tipi inspo!
Introducing the amazing Joolz and Brad – and what colourful characters they are! It was such a pleasure to have been part of their special day, and to celebrate their love, uniqueness, and individuality! It’s fair to say that they didn’t have a glorious day of sunshine, but not even the pouring rain could dampen their spirits! We’re completely in awe of how they embraced the weather, posing for pictures around their venue with flares and umbrellas! I think we can all agree that this added such a quirky and somewhat eerie twist to their wedding album – totally awesome and alternative!
When Joolz and Brad first came to us with their vision of ‘rustic country meets rock n roll’, we knew we were in for a treat! The happy couple stuck two fingers up to all things traditional, throwing away all formalities, to create a day that was theirs in every single way. Choosing Lester Meadows, a venue based over in Warrington (one of faves in the area!), they were free to select every piece of their wedding puzzle, and have the ultimate weekend-long celebration. This particular venue offers a whole host of props and shoot locations, from rustic barns and outbuildings, to stunning countryside fields and a traditional Gypsy caravan! Joolz and Brad had a reception venue of two giant tipis linked with a kung tipi, as well as a boutique tipi for their honeymoon suite!
Joolz looked enchanting in a beaded and bedazzled gown, paired with sliver trainers, a sparkling tiara, and statement jewellery. To add another twist to her ensemble, Joolz could also be seen grooving about in a personalised leather jacket – very rock chick indeed! Brad donned a tweed 3-piece suit, accessorised with a dicky bow and pocket watch.
Their theme and personality was echoed in every corner of the tipis, with poles adorned in moons & stars, whimsical dreamcatchers, and ambient lanterns. They selected white florals, complemented by green ivy and foliage. Their table décor of skulls and sunflowers was totally unique, and so different from your traditional wedding styling. Joolz and Brad incorporated a ‘something borrowed’ – a statement moon-gate that was actually passed on lovingly by a previous client of ours!
With a quick change around on the day, in order to adapt to our lovely British weather, Joolz and Brad got savvy, and moved their ceremony inside the tipis. After re-locating their ceremony arch and aisle, our wooden cross-back chairs were laid out throughout the two giants, so that their guests could watch on fondly. Our bride and groom were married underneath our tipi canopies – but this wasn’t any ordinary affair, oh no! Joolz and Brad had a fabulously-bewitching pagan ceremony, delivered by the ever-so-fantastic celebrant Susan Foxall, and (literally) tied the knot with a hand-fastening ritual!
With all the lovey-dovey legalities over, it was time to switch their tipis back to the reception spaced they’d originally planned. With a DIY bar, 3m hanging floral hoop, large fire pit, and dance floor, they had the perfect recipe for an unforgettable night! As the night drew in, the party atmosphere ramped up, and boy did their guests know how to party! A bunch of super cool cats, who were certainly up for a bit of fun in front of camera – who else would love to have danced away with these guys?!
So there you have it, feeling inspired to embrace your wild side yet? Huge thanks to the brilliant Joolz & Brad for letting us help create such a fab free-spirited day, we loved every minute.
Give our team a call if you’re looking to create a day that’s completely and utterly yours. We’re always happy to help plan your tipi wedding, and can’t wait to hear from you.
